Listings are checked against public sources and carry a verification date. When a source no longer supports a claim, the listing should be corrected, expired or removed.
How Spectrum works
Checked, independent and correctable.
Spectrum is a maintained guide. It tries to make useful routes easier to find without turning inclusion into endorsement.
Independence
Inclusion is not a ranking.
Being listed does not mean Spectrum endorses, accredits or ranks an organisation. There is no paid placement.
Guides
Evidence has different jobs.
Spectrum separates general factual guidance, variable or source-specific requirements, verified York information and attributed expert opinion. Current rules from the organisation involved override generic conventions.
Interviews
Experts speak for themselves.
Interviews and expert notes are attributed. An expert's experience can improve the guide without becoming a universal Spectrum rule. Declining an interview does not affect directory inclusion.
Corrections
Show us better evidence.
If a listing or guide claim is wrong or out of date, send the current source. Better evidence should change the record.
